To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any actions her Department is taking to develop a skilled workforce for the offshore renewables sector.

The Offshore Renewable Energy Action Plan (OREAP) sets out the policy and processes needed to support offshore renewable energy development, including an Economic Growth objective focused on ensuring the sector has the skilled workforce it needs. This objective is being supported through the Green Skills delivery plan.

A sub-group is being established within the Green Skills team in DfE, to include local employers, to help identify the current and future skills needs as well as any gaps in the current training provision. Other sectors are included in the exercise and once concluded the findings will be considered by the Green Skills Delivery Group.
