Answer
Following the publication of the Government Response Report to the Consultation on Support for Low Carbon Heating in Residential Buildings on 26th January, my officials have worked with the Energy Saving Trust to develop design proposals for a new domestic energy efficiency and low carbon heat support scheme. The scheme design, including approaches to funding and form of support offered, will be consulted upon in the coming weeks.
Officials have established a major project in the Department and are now working on the required business case, support scheme regulations and procurement process for the new Domestic Energy Efficiency and Heat Programme (DEEHP).
It is expected that the support scheme will be launched in latter part of 2027.
