Answer
On 25 January, I activated and extended the scope of the Non-flooding Scheme of Emergency Financial Assistance (SEFA) to provide financial assistance to councils. SEFA will run from 24 January until the situation is resolved.
I have ring-fenced up to £1m to alleviate the impact of Storm Éowyn. As the Scheme is still live, and costs are re-imbursed to council retrospectively, it is not possible to provide a more detailed breakdown at this stage.
Circular LG 03/25 Non-Flooding Scheme of Emergency Financial Assistance to District Councils – Storm Éowyn sets out the eligible
expenditure and is available on my Department’s website.
