Answer
My Department’s spend in delivering road structural maintenance, which it carried out, was £20.4m in 2024-25. This accounted for 15% of the total structural maintenance spend of £135.8m in 2024-25, with the remaining delivery through external contractors.
Structural Maintenance is the collective term for expenditure on resurfacing, surface dressing, patching on both carriageway and footways, structural drainage and structural stability of the road network.
