A suitable site for a Park & Ride at Downpatrick, has been identified within the Down Business Park along the A7 Belfast Road. The project has the potential to provide parking for approximately 400 vehicles. Environmental assessments and detailed designs have been completed. Once a business case has been approved, the Department will begin the formal submission of a planning application. However, progression of this park and ride site will be dependent on the availability of funding.
