Answer
My Department’s Homeowner Flood Protection Grant Scheme (HFPGS) remains open to new applications. The grant scheme covers 90% of the costs, up to a maximum of £10,000, of the total survey and estimated installation costs.
In relation to ongoing applications, I am pleased to advise that the delivery of products for 21 properties as detailed previously, whilst initially delayed, has now been received. Works commenced to fit these measures on properties at the end of January 2025 with 3 homes completed to date. It is anticipated that all properties will be completed in 8-10 weeks. In relation to Newcastle I can confirm that 6 properties are waiting for measures to be fitted with works expected to commence within the next 2-3 weeks. My Department’s contractor will contact each homeowner individually to arrange a suitable date for installation.
